Description:
Working with adults who have been severely traumatised in attachment relationships, such as childhood abuse, frequently raises boundary challenges for counsellors.
Those working in small communities face additional pressures in managing the interface between the personal and professional.
This workshop explores the complexities of seeking to provide safe boundaries for these clients.
Topics covered include;
- negotiating good therapeutic practice,
- ethical decision-making and conduct,
- and managing countertransference.
Prerequisites:
Two days or more training in sexual assault, domestic violence or child abuse.
