Privacy Policy

Health legislation and Departmental policy aim to ensure the appropriate use and privacy protection of identifiable or potentially identifiable information.

The Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (commencing 1 July 2000) establishes information privacy principles that will be observed by the Education Centre Against Violence in collecting and dealing with any personal information that you provide.

The information you provide in completing application or order forms or in making email enquiries helps us to:

  • Maintain records of the training that you have completed with us.
  • Provide you with information regarding your applications for training courses.
  • Contact you at short notice if necessary regarding training courses.
  • Provide you with information regarding future courses or resources.
  • Fulfil your orders for resources.
  • Respond to your comments or requests.

As people move their places of work, our training database uses date of birth to distinguish between people with the same name.

Any information you provide to us is voluntary.

Unless some fields on the course application form are completed it will not be able to be lodged electronically. This is to ensure that you have provided information essential for us to process your application. If you have any difficulties with this please contact us to discuss it.

Please contact us if you wish to check or correct any information you have provided to us which is held on our training database or in any other form.

The Education Centre Against Violence does not pass on information provided by you to other people or organisations for any purpose without your express permission unless there is a child protection (Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998), (NSW Health Circular No 2000/100) or legal obligation to do so.
